Mischa Barton, former star of popular TV show "The O.C.," has entered a plea of no contest to drunken driving (DUI) following a December arrest in West Hollywood, California. Barton was absent from the courtroom in Beverly Hills on April 10 as her attorneyr entered the pleas of no-contest on her behalf for charges of driving under the influence and driving without a license.

On December 27, sheriff's deputies spotted the 22-year-old actress straddling lanes with her vehicle and failing to use her turn signal, eventually leading to the arrest.

According to her attorney, Barton assumes full responsibility for her actions and will be required to pay a fine, serve three years' probation, and attend an alcohol education program.
