According to Virginia State Police, on the night of June 14, a 5-year-old Eastern Shore boy died after being ejected from a car his
aunt was driving. She was later charged with drunken driving (DUI). According
to Virginia State Police Sgt. Michelle Cotten, the
one-vehicle crash took place at approximately 9:30 p.m.
Cotten said that on the night of the accident, 27-year-old Birdsnest

Sebring she was driving entered the median.
According to Cotten, the car overturned and Kioakus Lamont Upshur, Jr. was

the mother was later notified.
