Dinwiddie County is a county of Virginia that is located right off of Interstate 85 a short distance from Petersburg, Virginia.  The speed limit on this rural stretch of roads is 70 miles per hour.  Most areas of Virginia have a maximum speed limit of 65 miles per hour.  However, Virginia Code § 46.2-862 deems that anyone caught doing above 80 miles per hour in any speed limit in Virginia is guilty of reckless driving.  Dinwiddie County, like so many other counties in Virginia is basically a 24/7 speed trap on the interstate highway there.  Thus, motorists are regularly ticketed for reckless driving speeding for doing only 11 miles above the speed limit in Dinwiddie.
