According to police, a uniformed bicycle patrol officer noticed 24-year-old Vick and a female involved in an altercation in a car at approximately 2 a.m. The officer asked if assistance was needed before asking Vick for his driver’s license. According to police, he sped away, but was stopped after a few minutes.
Vick was given a field sobriety test, which he failed, and then charged with DUI, misdemeanor eluding police, reckless driving, driving on the wrong side of the road, and driving with a suspended license. Vick’s passenger, Miami, Florida resident Delicia Cordon, was charged with being drunk in public.
Vick was released on $1,000 bond on Friday and is scheduled for a June 16 court appearance, according to Major Mike O’Toole of the Norfolk Sheriff’s Office.
After repeated brushes with the law and a record of on and off the field misbehavior, Vick was kicked off the football team at Virginia Tech. In March of 2006, he pled guilty to traffic violations in Hampton, which brought an end to his college career as he was under a “zero tolerance” policy.
