According to Virginia State Police, a man from Blairs
involved in a fatal accident on the night of June 19 on U.S. 29 near Danville has been charged
with driving under the influence and could also face an additional charge of
manslaughter.
State police say that shortly after 11 p.m. on the night of the crash, Earl Ray
Eanes lost control of his 2005 Ford Ranger. The truck rolled over multiple
times and 48-year-old Blairs resident Victor Samuel Jones was ejected from the
vehicle. He died at the scene of the crash.
Eanes received air transport to Lynchburg
General Hospital,
but was discharged.
State police say this is the second DUI charge within a
two week period for Eanes.
