Scott Weiland, lead singer for rock band Stone Temple Pilots, recently pled no contest to a misdemeanor drunken driving (DUI) charge and received an eight day prison sentence.

Weiland's plea was entered through his attorney in a Superior Court in Los Angeles, California on April 28. In addition to the prison sentence, he was also sentenced to four years probation and ordered to take part in an 18-month alcohol program.

On November 21, Weiland was arrested on a freeway off-ramp in San Fernando Valley, California.

Forty-year-old Weiland has had many substance abuse problems during his career. This is the second time he as been convicted of DUI.
